Athena EdTech AB (Bright) - GENERAL TERMS



1. General

Athena EdTech AB ("Bright") provides a service through which users can purchase course literature in the form of e-books ("Service"). In order to gain access to the Service, the user must accept these general terms and conditions, which constitute an agreement between the user and Bright regarding the use of the Service. By activating a user account, the user agrees to be bound by the terms. Bright will not retain a copy of this Agreement.


2. Age limit and account eligibility

To be eligible to contract with Bright, create a user account, purchase a book and use the Service, the user must:

  • Be at least 18 years old or otherwise authorized to enter into contracts according to Swedish law.
  • Provide Bright with accurate information about yourself, including contact information.
  • Enter a valid payment method.


3. User account registration and account settings

In order to use and take part in the content of the Service, the user must register and create a user account. A valid email address is required to register an account and use the Service. The user can himself change contact details such as email address, password and payment method under "Account settings" on Bright's website brighteducation.io.


By registering an account or logging in to Bright, the user gives permission for events to be registered linked to the account. These events are recorded to improve the user experience. The user is responsible for ensuring that no unauthorized person has access to login details or passwords.


By registering an account and accepting these terms, the user accepts that Bright can send them emails in an advertising purpose. The user can at any time notice Bright to not receive any more marketing emails and in these cases Bright shall stop sending these emails.


4. Technical and geographical conditions for use of the Service

The service can be used via the user's computer, tablet and/or mobile and requires an internet connection. Bright is not responsible for errors or delays due to a lack of equipment, software or internet capacity of the user. The user has the right to register and use the Service on a maximum of three (3) devices per user account. Bright has the right to change both the number of devices and the type of device the user can use the Service on.


5. Price information

Current prices can be found on Bright's website brighteducation.io. Prices include VAT and may vary depending on payment method. Bright reserves the right to change prices and informs the user about this via e-mail or user account.


6. Payment

Payment takes place at the time of purchase. The user is charged immediately after a book is purchased. Bright reserves the right to at any time alone decide to refuse specific types of payment/credit cards. Bright cooperates with third parties that provide payment services through which payment is made.


7. Access Time

By purchasing a book, the user gets access to the book for five (5) years from the time of purchase. After this period, access to the book ends.


8. Change of terms and conditions for the Service

Bright reserves the right to change the general terms and conditions. The user is informed of changes via e-mail or user account at least one month in advance. If the user does not accept the changes, the user may stop using the Service.


9. Contract period and termination

The service runs from the time the user starts a user account with Bright until the user chooses to close their account or Bright closes it. The user can terminate their account at any time via their profile page on Bright's website.


10. Right of withdrawal and complaint

The user has the right to withdraw from the purchase of the Service within 7 days from the date of purchase and will receive a full refund, provided that the right of withdrawal is exercised before the withdrawal period has expired. Please note that the right of withdrawal is forfeited if the user begins reading or otherwise utilizing the content of the Service. By starting to read or using the content, the user explicitly agrees that the right of withdrawal is waived, even if the withdrawal period has not yet expired. In the event of a faulty or defective Service, the user has the right to make a complaint by contacting Bright's customer service to receive a replacement or correction in accordance with applicable consumer protection regulations.


11. Bright's rights and obligations

Bright strives to offer a wide range but cannot guarantee that all course literature is always available. The functions and content of the service are continuously updated and may change at any time without prior notice. The Service is provided as is and Bright has the right to close the Service for upgrades and servicing.


12. Availability, Interruptions and Errors

Bright intends to provide the Service around the clock but cannot guarantee that the Service will always be free of errors or interruptions. Bright is not responsible for the user not being able to use the Service due to overload, network failure, communication failure or failure in the user's equipment or other circumstances beyond Bright's control. Bright must be given the opportunity to correct deficiencies in the Service within a reasonable time without a breach of contract being deemed to exist.


13. Use of the Service and the user's responsibility

The service and its content are owned by Bright and/or Bright's suppliers and are protected by copyright. The user's right to use the Service does not mean that ownership or other intellectual property rights are transferred to the user. The user may not share their user account or use the Service for commercial or public purposes. It is not permitted to copy or distribute literature or other content in the Service. The user may not manipulate or override the technical restrictions that protect the content of the Service. If unauthorized use is suspected, the user must notify Bright immediately. The user is responsible for damage caused by giving third parties access to the Service. Bright has the right to immediately terminate or block the user's access to the Service if abuse is suspected.


14. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution

These general conditions are governed by Swedish law. Disputes that cannot be settled amicably must be settled by a Swedish general court. The user can also have disputes tried in the Allmänna Reklamationsnämnden (ARN).


15. The user's responsibility for own uploaded material

The user is responsible for all material that he himself uploads to Bright's website. It is not permitted to upload any material that is abusive, illegal, offensive or otherwise inappropriate. Bright reserves the right to remove such material without prior warning and to take legal action if necessary. The user undertakes to indemnify Bright from all claims arising as a result of the user's own uploaded material. This liability does not include course literature or other materials provided by Bright.
